MISSION STATEMENT

To work under God in partnership with parents to provide an inclusive, nurturing and high quality education for every student.

VIsion

Flourishing through faith, belonging and the pursuit of excellence.

From The ACTING Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As my time as Acting Principal draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the wonderful journey I have had here at Lutheran School Wagga Wagga. It has been both a privilege and a joy to serve the school community, and I am filled with a mix of gratitude and sadness as I bid farewell.

My heartfelt thanks for the parent support I have felt throughout this term. Your trust and involvement in your children’s education have had a great impact on the school’s friendly atmosphere and nurturing environment. I attended P&F meetings, and it was wonderful to see a reasonably large group of passionate parents working hard to raise money for the school. There are many events being planned by them. The school fair next term will be amazing! I enjoyed the athletics day where I spoke to many happy parents and grandparents who proudly watched their children and grandchildren compete. Attending motivational speaker, Luke Kennedy’s presentation also gave me a window of time to chat to some parents. Thank you to those parents who gave me friendly greetings in the morning as they walked into school, and I was on playground duty. I am glad to hear that parents are pleased with the education that their children are getting at this wonderful school and that they are not afraid to commend the staff and school publicly.

Students are the heart of everything a school does. It has been a privilege to watch them learn, grow, and flourish during my time here. Their curiosity, creativity, and kindness remind us daily of the importance of our mission in nurturing not only their academic minds but also their spiritual and emotional well-being. I attended chapels and musters, celebrated special days and proudly gave out Lutheran Learner Achiever Awards. The selection of children’s reports, which I had the privilege to read during the weekend, have shown remarkable growth in your children.

One of the greatest joys of my role has been working alongside our dedicated staff members. Their commitment to fostering academic excellence, nurturing spiritual growth, and providing a caring environment for students has been truly inspiring. Their tireless efforts and passion for education are undoubtedly shaping the bright futures of your children.

While I am sad to be leaving such a warm and welcoming community, I am also filled with optimism for the future of Lutheran School, Wagga Wagga. The foundation of faith, love, and learning that defines Lutheran Education will undoubtedly continue to guide and strengthen the school community in the years to come.

As I bid farewell, I leave you with my sincerest wishes for God’s continued blessings upon each of you and your families. May His grace and guidance illuminate your paths and may the bonds of community and faith that are cultivated together continue to thrive. Thank you once again for allowing me the honour of serving as your Acting Principal. I will cherish the memories created and carry them with me as I journey back to Queensland and fade into retirement again.

With warm regards and heartfelt gratitude,

Genevieve Clark
Acting Principal

Values Focus

As semester one comes to an end I’m again reminded that author Anne Lamott writes that there are three simple prayers that are essential to daily life. Help, (God help me to… God help someone to, God please heal someone, God bring peace to…) Thanks, (God, thank you for this day, for this food, for this life, for this fun…) and Wow (God, this forest is AMAZING, God this sunset is too spectacular for words, God this winter frost is so beautiful) are prayers which are fundamental to daily life. In our prayer life at school we say prayers of Help, Thanks, and Wow and, as you now head into two weeks of school break I wonder how you might find the time to say these prayers throughout the holidays together.

Perhaps every evening at mealtime you might be able to stop and say “Thanks God” for the day you’ve had, for the food you’re going to eat and for the people who share it with. Every night before bed you might be able to say a Help prayer for someone you love and another for somewhere you think may need God’s help. And, finally, try to find times throughout the week where you can experience something that can take your breath away, be it a sunset, an experience, a landscape, or even a song or movie and offer the simple prayer of “Wow, this is amazing God.”

We all look forward to term 3 and the times throughout the rest of the year where we can express prayers of thanks, awe and wonder at the things they learn and the things they’ll teach us.

See you soon

NSW CIS Rugby Union Trials

On Wednesday 19 June, Tom Bull, Charlie Forsyth and Rex Benecke travelled to Sydney for the NSW CIS Rugby Union trials. There were over 100 boys from across the state trying out for 22 positions. The boys participated in a skills session followed by round robin games.

Congratulations to Rex who was selected in the NSW CIS Rugby Union team. Rex will represent CIS at the NSW PSSA Rugby Union Championships in Wagga next term. Tom and Charlie will have the opportunity to trial again next year.

Thank you to Lauren Forsyth, Matt Bull and Lyndon Benecke for transporting and supporting the boys at this event.

Tom Bull – ‘It was lots of fun. I look forward to trying out again next year’.
