Lutheran School Culture – A culture of service and love.
After spending time in State and Catholic Schools I felt called to Lutheran Schools which were schools of my own faith. All three systems of schools are passionate about educating the children who attend. In Lutheran education, our desire is to see every person thrive in their work and life. Service in response to God’s love is at the heart of all we do. Sharing God’s love is part of our daily lives. We love, care and serve each other, and we love, care and serve for children, because Jesus loves and cares for us. When we serve, we look outside of ourselves, beyond our own problems, and seek to bring value to others.
I am always uplifted after attending worship services that are a part of Lutheran school culture. This week I was blessed with attending the year 3-6 worship and was overjoyed to see the children worshipping with enthusiasm. When children get to an older age they usually don’t choose to move to the songs or be seen actively participating in worship. This was not the case at worship on Monday. I shared with the children and staff how much joy that gave me. Worship is part of the culture of a Christian School. It allows us to pray, praise and give thanks to our God for the blessings he has given us. It also allows us to learn from His word. This week the message was from something small, big things can grow. Small acts can lead to making big differences.
What small act of love or service could you do today to make a big difference in someone’s day?
School Photos
Next Wednesday 12 June will be school photo day. Please ensure your child is dressed in full winter uniform. Maybe our students in Y3-6 can make sure their shoes are clean and shiny for the photo! If you would like a sibling photo, the envelopes are available from the office.
Students not feeling well
Just a reminder that, if your child is feeling unwell and displaying COVID-/flu-like symptoms, they should stay at home until they are symptom-free. It is so important that we all do our part in ensuring we keep our school community fit and healthy. Thanks for your cooperation with this.
