ALWS
On Saturday, my family and I, plus Emma Davenport, participated in Walk My Way – a 10km walk starting at Bonegilla Migrant Centre near Wodonga. This was a celebration of 75 years of Australian Lutheran World Service. It first began in 1950 by Rev Dr. Bruno Muetzelfedlt, a dedicated Lutheran pastor who served as chaplain at the Bonegilla Migrant Camp. Following Word War II, Bruno provided both pastoral and practical support to thousands of European refuges, marking the beginning of ALWS 75 years ago. It was a wonderful day of community and kindness in action.
Kinder Bible Presentations
Last Friday during Chapel, our Kinder students were presented with a Bible to take home from the Bethlehem Ladies Fellowship. A massive thank you to the ladies for their generosity in providing a copy of God’s word to every Kinder student, plus new students in K-2. I know that all students were excited to receive their very own Bible, the smiles told it all!
God bless your week,

From The DEPUTY Principal
What a wonderful first term we have had so far, and we have a busy final few weeks of Term 1 to go!
Harmony Day & Ride2School Day
Students joyfully celebrated Harmony Day by wearing a touch of orange, symbolizing inclusivity, respect, and a sense of belonging for all. Harmony Day is about embracing cultural diversity and promoting unity within our communities, reminding everyone that “Everyone Belongs.” As part of the days event, they generously donated money to the Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) 75th anniversary which was about stepping out so a child can step up. We raised $252.50 to support children with the essentials for a happy, healthy life – food, school and safety.
Additionally, congratulations to all students who participated in National Ride2School Day! This initiative encourages active travel, such as riding, walking, or scooting to school, promoting a healthier lifestyle and reducing environmental impact.
Well done to everyone for showing great spirit and commitment to these meaningful events!
Parent Teacher Conferences
A reminder that Parent Teacher Conference bookings are now open. Bookings can be made through Parent Lounge https://lounge.lpsww.nsw.edu.au/parentlounge or the school app. We hope these conference opportunities provide parents a planned platform to find out how their child has settled into the school year and their progress in learning. There will also of course be the opportunity to ask questions and find out how your child can make the next steps forward in their academic and social/emotional learning.
Cross Country
Our LWSS Cross Country will be held next Thursday on the 3rd April at Apex Park, Lake Albert. Please check Parent Lounge to provide permission . To find out all of the details and to volunteer on the day please complete the link within the Cross Country letter. Students will be travelling to and from school via bus from 9:10am. As the event concludes by 1pm the afternoon will be normal school lessons.
P&F
It’s been fantastic to see strong attendance and valuable input at our twice-a-term Parents & Friends meetings this year. This dedicated group of community members plays a vital role in supporting the school in many ways, including fundraising, and providing feedback on school events. Their fundraising efforts help provide important resources and learning opportunities for students. We look forward to welcoming even more parents to these meetings to support the incredible work of our P&F.

Parents are most welcome to come along and watch the parade.

Curriculum Matters
Staff Planning Week
This week, all staff dedicated a full day to planning English and Maths programs as we work to further embed the new curriculum. Through collaborative efforts with grade partners and stage teams, we ensured that all learning experiences are evidence-based, relevant, and engaging for our students. In addition to our curriculum planning, we began exploring other components of the new curriculum set to be implemented in the coming years. Our initial focus will be on HSIE, where we will continue to deepen our understanding and plan for its implementation in 2026.
World Maths Day
World Maths Day 2025 was celebrated on March 26th, bringing together students worldwide to celebrate the excitement of mathematics. This global event aims to make math more engaging and accessible for all learners. Our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 actively participated in this exciting occasion. This year’s theme, ‘Maths for Everyone,’ encouraged every student to shine, fostering inclusivity, boosting confidence, and inspiring learners of all backgrounds and abilities.
