From The Principal
As Term 3 draws to a close, we reflect with gratitude on the many moments that have brought our school community together in learning, creativity, competition, and celebration. From camps and competitions to performances and special days, it has been a term full of energy and connection.
Tournament of Minds (TOM)
Our TOM teams showcased incredible creativity and collaboration, tackling complex challenges with enthusiasm and flair. Their presentations were a testament to the power of teamwork and innovative thinking, both teams making the state finals in Sydney!
Sporting Highlights
• Touch Football & Rugby League Gala Days: Students demonstrated great sportsmanship and skill, representing our school with pride and determination.
• Soccer Sydney FC Cup: Stage 3 boys’ and girls’ team.
• Stage 2 and 3 Tennis Teams: Both teams making it through to the next stage.
• Snowsports: Team competed at the Regional NSW Interschools competition at Falls Creek.
• Chess Competition: Strategic thinking and quiet focus were on full display as our chess players competed with confidence and respect.
Year 4 & Year 5 Camps
Adventure, friendship, and resilience were the themes of our Year 4 (Borambola) and Year 5 (Melbourne/Ballarat) camps. Students embraced new experiences, built stronger bonds, and created lasting memories.
Performing Arts at the Eisteddfod
• Dancing, Choir & Choral Speech: Our talented performers shone brightly at the Eisteddfod, captivating audiences and judges alike. Their dedication and joy were evident in every performance.
Special Celebrations
• Father’s Day: A heartwarming celebration of the fathers and father figures in our community. Thank you to all who joined us for this special occasion.
• Book Week: A colourful and imaginative week filled with costumes, storytelling, and a shared love of reading. Our parade and activities brought books to life in the most delightful ways.
Looking Ahead
As we head into the school holidays, we give thanks for a term filled with learning, laughter, and growth. We wish all our families a safe, restful and enjoyable break. May it be a time of renewal and joy.
Blessings to you all, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4!

Tournament of Minds
Congratulations to our two Tournament of the Minds teams who represented Lutheran School at the State Finals at UNSW in Sydney on 14th September. The students tackled the 3-hour long term challenge and spontaneous challenge with enthusiasm, tried their absolute best, and took away many valuable lessons from this exciting experience.
Thank you to Mrs Whatmuff and Mrs Forsyth for accompanying the students on the trip. Thankyou to the parents who have supported these students, with some travelling to Sydney to offer support on the day of the event.
SRC update
TRASH FREE TUESDAY WINNER!
Drumroll, please… The champion recycler, the master of the lunchbox, the hero classes who left the rubbish bin feeling lonely and unloved… is 1G and 6H!
They managed to bring a lunch so clean, so green, and so trash-free that even the earth gave them a standing ovation.
Thank you to everyone who joined in — the bins were quieter, the playground was cleaner, and the crows are still in shock.
School Uniform
We are currently in the two-week transition period where parents are able to use their discretion regarding the weather and appropriate student uniform; however, please ensure that the correct summer or winter uniform is worn and not a combination of both. This will continue for the first 2 weeks of Term 4. A reminder that new summer uniform can be purchased from Lowes. Good quality second hand uniform items are also available from the LSWW uniform shop. Orders for second hand uniforms can be placed on the LSWW app or by emailing [email protected]

Stage In The Spotlight
Year Two Students Explore Persuasive Writing
This term, our Year Two students have been diving into the world of persuasive texts! They’ve been learning how to express their opinions clearly and convincingly, using strong reasons and emotive language to support their ideas. We have incorporated our Quality Text ‘Mallee Sky’ by Jodi Toering, using our research methods to learn about droughts. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity and critical thinking shine through in their writing!
Year One
On September 19th, Year One students competed in the 2025 Wagga Wagga Eisteddfod, reciting two poems in the Choral Speech section. The students demonstrated our school values and represented us with great pride. It was a close contest, with the adjudicator spending fifteen minutes deliberating before deciding the winner. We proudly secured second place!
Values Focus
This term’s series on compassion ended with a recognition that compassion gives us all a fresh start.
Sometimes we might feel overwhelmed, perhaps a job is too big, or we’ve made way too many mistakes. When I feel overwhelmed, I want to start afresh, to have another chance to try and get everything right. I wonder if you’ve ever felt that way before? When have you ever wanted a fresh start?
Fresh starts can fill us with hope and make us feel good about what’s coming next, sometimes fresh starts can be peaceful.
Sometimes, when I look at the world and see things that are unjust and unfair, I can begin to feel overwhelmed, or when I see people treated badly, or who don’t have the things they need I feel sad. In those times I pray for a fresh start, for hope and for things to be made right.
In chapel we learned of God giving the people a fresh start, a Jubilee where everything would have a rest and begin again, where everyone and everything could live in a community shaped by God’s compassion and love.
I hope this term break is a time where you and your family can rest and renew, to find joy and hope in God’s creation so that in term 4 we can start afresh and show compassion and love to all.
