Introducing our 2026 School Captains
We are excited to announce our School Captains for 2026. Our Year 5 students had to be nominated for the role, voted on by their cohort, and then 12 students (6 boys and 6 girls) presented speeches to our Year 2-6 students and staff. All students did a terrific job informing the school of their thoughts and ideas about leadership and what it means to them. Well done to all of these students.
Our Captains are Rosie Molineux and Jordan Tracey and Vice-Captains are Indi Walker and Eli Poole. Congratulations to these students.

In the coming weeks, the Year 5 students will have the opportunity to run for House Captains, Technology Leaders and Worship Leaders. We look forward to working and learning with all our student leaders in 2026.
Product Recall
You may have heard in the news about a recent safety alert concerning certain coloured sandboxes that have been recalled by the manufacturer. Please click here for the official notice for your reference.
We want to assure you that we have responded swiftly in line with the safety alert, despite the very low level of risk involved.
The wellbeing of our students is always our highest priority, and we take these matters seriously. At this stage, we have not been advised of any risk to our students. However, we understand that such news can cause concern, and we encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or would like further clarification.
I encourage you to read the official notice above and if you find any of these products in your home to dispose of them according to recommendations.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to maintain a safe and caring environment for all our students.
Term 4 often brings a whirlwind of activity… final assessments, events, and preparations for the year’s end. During this busyness, it’s easy to feel rushed or distracted. But the Christian message encourages us to pause, be present, and find peace in the moment. Whether it’s taking time to reflect, pray, or simply notice those around us, slowing down helps us reconnect with what truly matters. As we move through the final weeks of the term, may we remember that God meets us not in the rush, but in the quiet; inviting us to rest, reflect, and be fully present.
I pray that you are able to enjoy the last few weeks of the 2025 school year and even find time to rest, relax and reflect.
Blessings,
Hollie Kinning

Performing Arts Showcase
Our annual Performing Arts Showcase concert will be held on Tuesday 2 December at 9:10am in the Chapel.
SRC Christmas Charity – ALWS Gifts of Grace
As we prepare for the festive season, our SRC has chosen ALWS Gifts of Grace as our final charity of the year to support. Gifts of Grace supports families around the world by providing essentials such as clean water, food, and education; meaningful gifts that truly change lives.
To help students understand the impact of this charity, students have viewed a short information video in class.
We are inviting students to bring in a cash donation in an envelope to contribute alongside their classmates. Donations can be given to class teachers between now and Friday, 5 December. Each class will then vote on which “gift” from the Gift of Grace catalogue they would like to support.
Families should have already received an envelope with further information about how these donations can make a real difference for communities in need.
School TV SPECIAL REPORT: New Social Media Regulations: What you need to know
From 10 December 2025, new laws will take effect in Australia to protect young people online by restricting access to social media for those under the age of 16. This important change reflects growing community concern about the impact of early social media use on children’s mental health, wellbeing and development.
Research shows that social media can expose children to unrealistic comparisons, online pressure and harmful content long before they are emotionally ready to manage it. While regulation is a positive step forward, real safety begins at home. Families continue to play the most powerful role in helping children build confidence, resilience and awareness in the digital world.
These new regulations provide an opportunity to talk openly with your child about their online experiences and what these changes mean for them. It’s also a chance to review family technology habits, reinforce healthy routines, and explore age-appropriate ways for young people to connect, learn and express themselves.
This Special Report explains what the new laws mean in practice and offers practical guidance to help families prepare for the upcoming changes.

NEW K-2 Readers - HELP PLEASE
Dear Families,
Our wonderful Parents and Friends Committee have recently purchased new readers to add to our collection to support a varied and high quality selection of home readers for our students.
In order for us to promptly put these readers in to circulation, we are asking families to assist us with the covering of these books. Books will be sent home in lots of 5, with clear contact already cut to size ready to use. If you are able to cover some books, please email the office at [email protected] and we will send a pack of books and contact home with your child. If you would like to cover extra packs of books, please let us know how many you are happy to complete in the email.
Thank you in advance for your support in ensuring we can use these new books as soon as possible.

Values Focus
I don’t want to alarm anyone, but Christmas is coming up quickly.
In chapel this term, we are hearing parts of the story leading up to Jesus’ birth. This week, we heard about the angel speaking with Mary, I like to think of it as the “calling of Mary”.
In the Bible, the call of a prophet often follows a familiar pattern: God speaks and calls; the prophet responds, “No, you’ve got the wrong person,” and explains why. God replies, “It’s okay – you’re not doing this alone. I am with you.” Then the prophet says “yes.”
We see this in the stories of Moses, Jeremiah, and Isaiah. The story of Jonah emphasises the pattern so strongly that he ends up swallowed by a fish while trying to say “no” to God.
Mary, like the prophets before her, gives reasons why she isn’t the right person. And again, God reassures her that she is not alone. Like Moses, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, Mary ultimately says “yes.”
I wonder if you or your household have ever said “no” to God – perhaps because you felt too busy, unqualified, or unsure. Maybe this is a chance to talk together about what God might be calling your household to do in the coming year, and what it might look like to say “yes” to God.
Saying “yes” is a big step, but we never take it alone. We walk in the light of those who have gone before us, and with God beside us every moment.
What do you need to say “yes” to this year?
Shalom

NSWCIS Cricket Trials
On Monday 10 November, Max Ockerby and Eddie Benecke travelled to The King’s School in Sydney to participate in the NSWCIS Cricket Trials.
Seventy boys from both Sydney and regional areas across New South Wales competed for just 24 places on the CIS team. The trials included a batting and bowling net session, followed by a modified match.
Although Max and Eddie were not selected for the final team, they each gained valuable experience and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to compete at such a high level. A big thank you to Kate and Stuart for transporting and supporting the boys throughout the event.
RAS Tennis Trials

On Wednesday 12 November, Camille Harris, Sophia Lamont and Cara Metcalfe (Year 4), along with Kingsley Cheung, Sam Curry, Isabel George and Ryan Rajan (Year 5), travelled to Henty to compete in the RAS Tennis Trials.
Our students took part in round-robin singles matches against students from other schools within our sports association.
Congratulations to Isabel, Cara, Camille and Kingsley who have been selected to represent RAS at the CIS Tennis Championships in Sydney next year. We also congratulate Sophia, who qualified as a reserve.
Well done to all students who competed. We are incredibly proud of your effort, sportsmanship and enthusiasm. A big thank you to our parents who travelled to Henty and supported our students throughout the day.
