From The ACTING Principal
Welcome to Term 3
I feel honoured to introduce myself as the new Acting Principal at Lutheran School. This school holds a special place in my heart as it was the first school I visited before beginning my career in Lutheran education. It was here that Mr. Stephen Rudolph interviewed me and set me on my path in Lutheran schools after my training at Charles Sturt University. Over the past 30 years, I’ve been heavily involved in Lutheran education, including 20 years as Principal at St. John’s Lutheran School in Jindera.
I want to extend my gratitude to Mrs. Genevieve Clark for her outstanding leadership as Acting Principal during Term 2, and to the exceptional staff who supported her. I am eager to partner with all of you to build on the wonderful work being done here and to support our students’ growth in faith and learning. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or just to say hello.
New families
We extend a special welcome to Jared and Amy Walker and their children, Milla (Year 1) and Noah (Year 2) and Christian Sanders and Tiana Salmon and their children Kirra (Year 1) and Aowyn (Year 5) who have joined us this term! We pray that you feel warmly welcomed and find your transition to school life as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Year 6 Canberra Excursion
At the end of last term, Team 6 undertook an educational tour of the National Capital. Students participated in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the National Capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
Thank you to Mrs Whatmuff, Mrs Wadley, Mrs Forsyth and Mr Brown for giving up their time to take Team 6 students on this experience.

100 Days of Kindergarten
Congratulations also to our Kinder students who are celebrating 100 days at Kinder this year…TODAY! It looks like they have had a wonderful time. Special thanks go to our Kinder staff for organising such a treat!
Sudents not feeling well
Just a reminder that, if your child is feeling unwell and displaying COVID-/flu-like symptoms, they should stay at home until they are symptom-free. It is so important that we all do our part in ensuring we keep our school community fit and healthy.
With the Cold and Flu season upon us, please remember:
- Regularly wash your hands and use hand sanitiser throughout the day;
- Stay home if you have cold or flu symptoms. Wear a mask if you need to leave home; and
- You may be required to wear a mask in high risk settings.
Have a great week!

Lutheran Legends Awards
Congratulations to the students who received Lutheran Legends Awards at last Friday’s assembly.
Values Focus
This term’s value is Justice, it’s a theme we’ll be exploring in our chapel services in worship through scripture, song, story, and prayer. Justice is a central theme in scripture, God constantly reminds us to care for the widow, the refugee, and the children and that everyone, no matter who you are, has the right to be treated with dignity and fairness. The book of Psalms is full of songs and prayers for Justice, and the rest of scripture is full of stories reminding us of the importance of God’s justice, constantly comparing God’s Kingdom to that of the rest of the world. It’s clear to me that if we are going to walk with God, we need to keep our eyes open for injustice and for opportunities to love our neighbour, and pray for the world.
Earlier in this term the staff of the school watched https://youtu.be/A14THPoc4-4?si=h_glVJZ5Zow4xByL
which explores the Bible’s radical vision of Justice. Maybe you’d like to watch it together at home (I encourage you to watch it before you watch it with your children) and talk about what you might be able to do as a household. How will you do justice love mercy and walk humbly with God this year?
