From The Principal
As the end of the year arrives, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of our school this year. What a ride we have had! I’ve always been a big fan of roller coaster rides, but perhaps we can hope for a slow, gentle, tame ride next year!
As we celebrate our student achievements and reflect on the many positive things that have happened this year, we also prepare for the Christmas Season. In our Church, Advent is the time (four weeks) that we have to prepare for the arrival of Jesus. During this time we focus on the HOPE, PEACE, JOY and LOVE that comes to us on Christmas Day. It is this hope, peace, joy and love that brings me a sense of calm. In our lives we can find this too.
I have HOPE for our school, for our students and our community. I pray that we have PEACE in our decisions, our actions, our relationships and in our lives. JOY is everywhere, we just have to look for it. There is nothing more joyous than a walk through our school, to see the joy on our learners faces, to see the joy in a group of friends playing together and learning new things. Finally, LOVE. Imagine a world filled with love, a world where each one of us focus on surrounding one another with love, rather than the opposite. A world where each one of us are loved and we love in return. In God we find HOPE. In God we find PEACE. In God we find JOY and in God we find LOVE.
We are blessed to be able to come to school each day and provide a place of learning founded in His word for our community. Our staff make our school the special place that it is. Our Board members, Board Chair – Johanna Stanton, thank you for your role behind the scenes, for your guidance and direction in the governance of our school. It is often a difficult and unrewarded position, but I’m grateful for your service and the opportunity to grow together in the years to come. To our parent community, thank you for all you do in support of our school. We’re so grateful for our Parents & Friends, a special thanks to Tara Freeburn, Sally Ward and Lisa Price for their many years of service to our school and the many events they have held to help add to our community this year.
Finally, to our students, thank you for being the heart of our school. You make this place beat; you are the reason we are all here.
I wish our 2024 Team 6 cohort all the very best for the next part of their journey. We thank you for being part of our school and wish you God’s richest blessings as you step in to high school. You’ve got this!
I look forward to welcoming students back for 2025 on Monday 3rd February.
Have a safe and blessed Christmas!

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY........
On Thursday 5th December, Summer and I joined Mrs Kinning to perform some ‘Principal of the Day’ activities. In the morning we attended the Performing Arts Showcase with the school community. We listened to an amazing variety of items showcasing the many talents of the students involved. Each item was enjoyed by the audience. Summer and I particularly enjoyed the items performed by the drummers. We congratulate all the performers on their wonderful efforts.
Later we visited classes and handed out Lutheran Learner Awards. It was fun to congratulate each student on their achievements. We also presented the Kinder classes with two special books to share.
Summer and I enjoyed having lunch in the principal’s office. Summer had fun sitting at the principal’s desk.
A special thank you to Mrs Kinning for guiding us during the day. Thank you also to all the school staff for making us so welcome. The school is a wonderful place of learning and friendships.
We wish everyone a happy and blessed Christmas with family and friends as they join in the celebration of Christ’s birth. God’s blessings to everyone.

Values Focus
As the year comes to an end we’ve continued to listen to and learn Christmas songs in chapel, sometimes the songs can help us imagine the story of Jesus birth, and perhaps place ourselves in the story and imagine what it might be like to be an angel, shepherd, or a new mother or father.
For some of us these songs can inspire memories of Christmases past, stories which we can tell our children, or grandchildren.
And, when we strip all the songs back and look at what really matters we’re reminded of a child born to a young mother in a strange land, of witnesses who were travelers, shepherds and angels and of a God who chooses to come to the world not as a soldier, warrior or dictator, but as a child. This is what love looks like, this is how God brings peace to the world, this is what gives us hope.
From all the school we wish you a very Merry Christmas and, as the new year comes may it be a blessed one.
Shalom
