From The ACTING Principal
Welcome to the last week of Term 3.
As we wrap up another exciting and full term, I want to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of our students and staff. This term has been filled with so many enriching experiences that have challenged, extended and brought a lot of fun and joy to education which has been a delight to see.
MORE AMAZING EISTEDDFOD RESULTS
A huge congratulations go to our Year 1 Choral group and teachers for their fantastic achievement in securing 1st place at the Eisteddfod just recently! Your beautiful speech and enthusiasm captivated the audience, and we are so proud of your incredible performance!
Congratulations also to our Year 3-6 Dance Eisteddfod team ably led by Miss Guymer, for their outstanding achievement in securing 2nd place last Friday! Your hard work, dedication, and passion shone brightly on stage, and we are incredibly proud of you all!
Unfortunately, the Year 6 Colour Run had to be postponed due to bad weather, but it certainly gives students and staff something to look forward to next term along with the Spring Fair and end of year activities. The Colour Run will now be held on 24 October.
This Thursday and Friday parent/teacher conferences will be taking place with our closing Chapel and awards ceremony occurring at 2.20pm and ably led by our SRC committee. All are welcome to attend the service. Remember: Friday is a PUPIL FREE DAY.
Last week the students raised $450 from our Movie and Mufti day which will go to the Make a Wish Foundation to support them in the amazing work that they do. Thank you for your support of this worthy cause.
THE JUNIOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT IS NOW GONE!
The old junior playground has now been dismantled and we look forward to the new equipment being constructed in the holidays. Thank you to Mr Lieschke and Mr Peck for their hard work in taking it all apart!!
FAREWELL TO MRS PRENZLER
At the end of this term we will be saying farewell to Mrs. Philippa Prenzler, who is leaving after nearly 25 wonderful years at Lutheran School Wagga.
Starting as a Learning Assistant, Mrs. Prenzler quickly became a beloved part of our community. In her recent role as School Counsellor, she continued to make a huge impact, supporting students through their challenges and celebrating their successes.
Her kindness, listening ear, and genuine care for every student have left a lasting mark on all of us. Thank you, Mrs. Prenzler, for your dedication and the warmth you’ve brought to our school. We’ll miss you and wish you all the best for this next chapter of your life!
YOU ARE INVITED:
We are excited about the plans we have for the next term, including our new Junior playground as well as our new Principal! We look forward to welcoming Mrs Kinning and her family, as full time, permanent principal and invite you to attend the installation service for her on Sunday 20 October at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 9:30am.
As I prepare to say goodbye as Acting Principal, I want to say thank you for your support and to wish you all the very best for next term and the coming years. It’s been a joy to be part of this community. Your cooperation and help have made this experience all the more pleasurable and I wish you all God’s richest blessings for your final term and the exciting new chapter ahead with Mrs. Kinning as principal.
God bless,
Sharon Kotzur
Acting Principal
Values Focus
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:17-18)
We’ve continued the theme of Justice in chapel this term, more recently reflecting on how small actions can change the world. When we choose to offer compassion, be strong, build friendships and show kindness to the people, animals and world around us we can be the people of God, bringing about change for good. This might scare many of you, but the other day I noticed that many of the shops in town had started putting up their Christmas decorations, perhaps this holiday may be the perfect time to initiate a conversation about how your family will live out justice this Christmas. Perhaps you want to start a “grow jar” to collect money for a charity, or think about where your presents will come from, or what they’re made of, or get involved with something local, like CareVan in the lead up to Christmas.
How will your family change the world this year?
